A dozen roses.
I never thought that I would ever come to this point, but it seems futile to deny this fact anymore:
I will never move away from Gainesville.
That fact alone perhaps isn't that hard-hitting or hard to swallow. It certainly doesn't have the aftertaste of this following thought, which I came to finally accept while I was overseas.
I don't want to move away from Gainesville.
But that's nothing compared to this most recent of realizations:
I don't really even want to move out of my parents' house.
And now, after 26 years, I don't think I will, ever.
Though it is likely that I have driven away nearly all my readership through an inexcusable lack of communication, my time abroad has given me ample opportunity to not only improve my English skills but also reflect upon the many ways my diffidence has hampered my relations online and in the real world. This website, and the mind it reflects, are both undergoing a renewal. I hope that in the following days the changes evident on the surface of the former will reveal to you the depth to which changes have been wrought in the latter.
