Pre-Thanksgiving Dinner

Libby and Keth was most kind enough to open up their apartment for a Pre-Thanksgiving Dinner party for salsa friends. And have a feast we did!

Our hostess in fear of big bird (I thought women are crazy wild about big "birds"!) decide to cook ham instead. Of course we have the basic and foundations basis for a proper Thanksgiving dinner: stuffing, mash potatoes with gravy, corn, carrots, pumpkin pie, wine, chicken with broccoli...etc.

Naturally, during and post dinner conversation steer toward typical topics as well....

Here are the attendence for the dinner party:

Libby: Girlfriend of Keth, Tawian
Keth: Boyfriend of Libby, Floridian
Chris: Long distance dating, Ohio
Isabell: Single, Chinese been here for four years
Bow: Single, Chinese been here for 10+ years
and Me

Everyone was polite to thank and comment on the great and bountyful amount of food that was serve. As the food sink in and the wine flow tongues got a little loose and poetry roll....

B*tch about Bush and how he is covering himself so well.
B*tch about Kerry how he wimp out so easily and not rising up to challenges.
What is true Chinese and who stole from who: China or Taiwan.
Religous.
Abortion.
Sex.
Balance of power between Man and Woman.
Taxes. Tax cuts.

After the second serving of food everyone just shut up and smile.

So who buys the ring?

Instead of designing the new PCB board for the Hitachi Knee coil this morning I started out the day by reading some Gainesville Sun. For some reason I dread this source of information. Maybe I just see Gainesville as a small town and that there is nothing really to report about and whatever the papers report are just stories of no important. But beside that I read a particular article asking a very intersting question:

So if the woman propose, who buys the ring?

To answer this question I went on a quest asking the "wise" and the elder co-workers.

Name: Mike
Status: Marry with kids
Relationship: My Boss

"?"

Name: Hillary
Status: Dating a guy from Texas, long distance
Relationship: colleague

"The woman propose?! That is just pathetic."

Name: Dale
Status: Divorce, no kids
Relationship: Tech for Research and Development

"The richer of the two."

Name: Teresa
Status: Divorce, three daughters and still sane
Relationship: colleague

"I am not much of a bink bink girl. I mean why spend money on something like that? I rather have the money spend on a down payment on a house or some great furinture or an awesome bed to get busy on!"

For the traditionalist and convservative in this "modern age" what should be the respones to this?

Passing time

Here is something that I would like to read or heard about when I was a kid: Chocolate May Hold Cure for Coughs. If that has been the case back then I would fake all my coughing. I believe that this is also mention in most Harry Potter where every time some witch or wizard get sick large sums of chocolate is offer to ease the pain or sickness! (drooling....)

Other topics...

Models

The main focus for this month's Victoria's Secret is push up without padding. I am not sure what my thoughts about this new information. Does it mean that women now are so naturally well chested that no padding is needed anymore? If that is the case I am pretty happy about it (well, just jumping franticlly with joy). If not...if not, I don't know what my respones are. But the good news that I must share as I look through this month's catalogue is the new models that are introduce! The ones now actually have a little hips now! The "old" ( I don't really mean old because those models could just be like 22 years old so I guess I should use the word former) model are shape like tree trunks; straigh down no curves at all. And I love curves.

Halo 2

Over the weekend I help the freshmen neighbors hookup and network two xboxs for Halo 2. It is a fairly simply set up and my reviews for this game is that it is very smooth. I don't see much trouble or lag as all eigth players blast each other all over the place. The average life span of a player in that game is a duration of 34 seconds.
I also read a reveiw from another player who shared that he cry when he pass level 5 of the story line playing Halo 2. How emotional and relieved when he was able to punch through hordes of aliens and finish his mission. I feel you man. I feel you.

Caught my Eyes

31 July 1976 (only three years older than me. I wouldn't mind older woman. ;-) )
Anchorage, Alaska, USA

You might know her from the movie How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. She also has a part in the new movie National Treasures which I will be going to see when I get a chance. She has caught my eye for sometime. From the picture she seem so at ease and comfortable. Simply and elegent clothing. Like the charactor she play in 10 Days. I like that very much.

Beside that please also read Katie's blog as well as Josh's with some posting about Russel Crowe. Fairly interesting and entertaining.

Flashes

Bush won. Four more years.

Thoughts that flash through my mind waking up on November 3:

Bush won.

2008:
Troops still in Iraq.
Social Security in a mess.
Medicare in a mess.
Tax reform still favor the rich.
Economy will slowly recover beginning of 2008.
Federal government implanting more power and policies over school system and educations standards.
Republican will tone down the fighting the war on terror.
There will be no Draft.
The world will get use to the way Bush does things and will get along with American in some way.
People that move to Canada due to this election will move back.

Jeb Bush will run for office. (Why not right? Keeping the business in the family.)

A Republican will get elected again.

I will be 28 years old.
How old will you be?

What are my plans?
What are your plans?
